Rates, Insurance, and Frequently Asked Questions

Sessions

Sessions are 50-55 minutes in length and are held via a secure, confidential video platform. You must be in California for each of our appointments. If you’re attending therapy for the first time or would just like more info, I’m happy to discuss what sessions would generally look like if we work together.

Fees & Insurance

I provide an initial 15-minute phone consultation at no cost. My standard out-of-pocket rate for a 50-55 minute session is $175. I also offer a sliding scale and accept insurance.

I am in-network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Quest Behavioral Health. If you use this benefit, this means that by providing your insurance information, your insurance will get billed for the cost of our sessions. You will pay your copay at each visit.

If I’m not in-network with your insurance, you may be able to use out-of-network benefits where your insurance reimburses you for some or all of the cost of your therapy sessions. I partner with Mentaya for you to be able to use your out-of-network benefits with more ease.

If you plan to pay out-of-pocket, you can request a Good Faith Estimate.

Can I see you if I’m not pregnant, postpartum or experiencing a pregnancy loss?

Yes! I work with adults (18+) for non-perinatal related things - primarily anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, life transitions, and stress management. I’m happy to chat further to see if we’re a good fit.

What is EMDR?

EMDR is a structured, somatic-based therapy that is used to address traumatic or highly stressful experiences in our lives (here is some info on “Big T” and “Little t” trauma). It looks and feels different from traditional talk therapy. I encourage you to read more about EMDR here, and I’m happy to answer any questions about how we might incorporate EMDR into our work together.

Can I bring my kids to session?

Yes, babies are welcome in session! Let’s chat about bigger kids attending sessions - they can sometimes be bigger distractions or it might not be appropriate for them to hear the content of the session, but I don’t want childcare to be a barrier to you attending therapy. I’m happy to help figure out what will work best.
