About Me

Bridget Joyce LCSW

Hi there, I’m Bridget!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) seeing clients virtually in California. I believe that rapport and connection between client and therapist is the most essential part of therapy. My goal as a therapist is to create a space with you that is authentic, warm, non-judgmental, and supportive of your goals. My hope is that we can collaborate together, so you can function in your daily life in a way that feels good for you. It’s a joy for me to connect one-on-one with my clients.

I primarily draw on the therapeutic modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Dialetical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Prior to starting my own practice, I worked with adults in multiple physical and mental health settings, most recently at a primary care and perinatal clinic and then a perinatal-focused group practice. I have provided individual and group therapy related to a variety of mental, emotional, and physical health difficulties.

My work has most often been related to concerns of anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, and pregnancy/postpartum. I’m passionate about working with folks during pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, and experiences of loss. I have completed advanced perinatal mental health psychotherapy training through Postpartum Support International. I feel connected to this work because I personally understand the pain of pregnancy loss and the immense challenges of pregnancy and childbirth. I also know that these lowest lows can live alongside the highest highs of a positive pregnancy test, newborn snuggles, and watching your child grow.

When I’m not in the virtual therapy room, I’m most likely on a walk with my kiddo, reading a library book, doing a crossword puzzle with my husband, snuggling with my cats (who you will likely see or hear during our sessions at some point), or in the kitchen cooking and baking. I’m a midwesterner who has lived in the Bay Area since 2017 (I do not miss the humidity or snow!). I care for myself by taking alone time, drinking a cozy cup of coffee, practicing mindfulness, and spending time outside.
